Today I got a post card from my former neighbor.I was shocked to read that, because it said that
his wife had passed away this year. She had a heart sugery more than ten years ago.
At that time she was saying that she would have to have an operation ten years later again.
Her twenty- year old boy who is a college student now lives with his father.
I hope that they will overcome this grief.
May she rest in peace.

A book which I would like to introduce
I would lilke to introduce one of my favorite books. The title is ''The Path of Prayer''(inorino michi),written by Keiko Takahashi, published by Sanpoh publishing company.
There are many kinds of prayers in that book.
I read it every day ,andI believe it really helps me to live my better life.

A Korean Girl
I live very close to the Suizenji Park. The other day,on my way home from shopping,a young girl asked me how to get to the Suinji Park.
She had come from Korea and did not understand Japanese well. She said that because her ship was one hour behind the schedule, she reached Kumamoto one hour late, and she had to go back to Fukuoka on that day.I was not sure if it was still open as it was almost five thirty.
When we got there, unluckily two clerks were closing the gate.I told them why she was late ,and
asked them to let her in.Then, they kindly permitted her to enter.
The Korean girl really appreciated it and said thank you to us poritely.
I was so happy to help her.

The Ugly Duckling
Once upon a time, five eggs hatched and just one was ugly .
The cute ducks were mean to the ugly duckling .
They said,"You are ugly.Go away!"
Then,he met some geese and herons.
But ,they were also mean to him.
After a while ,he came upon swans. They were the most beautiful birds he had ever seen.
He hid himself because he did not want them to see how ugly he was.
He stayed by himself and he grew and grew.
One day he looked into the water and knew that he had grown beautifully.
He lived happily ever after and was always kind to all living things.

The dog and the bone
A naugty dog stole a bone from the butcher.
He scampered away and onto a bridge that crosssed a stream.
And he saw another dog ih the water which has a bone in his mouth.
As it looked bigger than his ,he wanted it.
When he barked the dog, his bone slipped out and fell into the water.
All he could see was himself andno bone ,either.
And the moral is...
Be happy with what you have.
